Through my graduate school studies, I identified
countless contemporary writers discussing the challenges in the workplace
today. During this same period, my coursework led me to the teachings
of prophets and mystics from various religious orientations. It occurred
to me that the teachings of these mystical and prophetic leaders could
contribute to the workplace today.
I have chosen to take a leadership role in the world-wide
Spirituality at Work movement because of my personal and professional
commitment to improving workplace environments. As a Human Resources
Consultant, I work with managers and their employees as a coach,
corporate trainer and recruiter.
I have seen countless people in what I refer to as the "walking dead
state." As I see it, integrating the spiritual elements of our
human nature into our work is one way to ensure a life enriching
workplace. The spiritual gifts I would love to see expressed more
fully in the workplace include creativity, intuition, generosity
of spirit, selfless collaboration, among others.
